Tenpin bowlers saddened by death of stalwart Seilaz
Juniors see Ryan Hattingh in first place from Guy Saige and JK Rykof in third.

THE week started off very badly for members of Amanzimtoti Tenpin Bowling Club (ATBC) who learnt of the death of the grand old dame of bowling, Anna Seilaz on Sunday, 12 April at the age of 96 years.
Ann represented the club, province and the country with great distinction over many years. To those who knew her, bowled with her and toured with her, it was a sad day to know that she was no longer with us. The club’s thoughts and prayers are with Brian, Julie and family at this time.
There has been a full week of league play and numerous high scores were recorded, Monday Taxi Trios sees ‘2 Hookers and a str8 guy’ in first place but they look very vulnerable at present as High 5s are gathering steam and pulling in reserves to bolster their cause. Pulse is meanwhile hovering in third place, waiting for either of the top two to falter to move ahead. High scores were recorded by Stephan Sleigh (243), Ricky O’Hare (235) and Donavan Maistry (230) while Tamika Mathew flew the flag for the women on 211, from Cheryl Hambrook with 205.
Soho league saw Vish Studzinski in first place on +41 and the only positive bowler followed by Katie Alberts on -35 and the famous Roy Prince battling along on –104.
Wednesday sees ‘Pros and cons’ in first place from Soorajlal in second and Sewcharan in third, Wayne Cyster bowled a 226 game followed by Brian Daventry-Bull on 220.
Thursday league sees the new team Avengers (Pierre du Plooy and Stacey-Lee Hooper) in the lead from P-Cats and double up in third. Once again Ricky O’Hare is the top bowler on 233 while Pierre followed with a 230 game. Stacey-Lee topped the women’s leader board with a fine game of 220 followed by Cheryl Hambrook on 213.
Juniors see Ryan Hattingh in first place from Guy Saige and JK Rykof in third. Phantom, David Martin is first from Janis Holmes by only five pins, watch this space.
Staff league sees Chris (Bossie) Boshoff on 823 pins followed by John Short on 806 and Zander Kumst in third on 760.
The monthly meat tournament was held at the weekend and drew a large field of quality bowlers. Andrew Cyster showed his class winning both the highest plus and scratch prizes while Brian Daventry-Bull was second with Theo Govender third and Logan Naidoo in fourth.
The next event at Dolphin Bowl will be the ATBC mixed doubles on 3 May. There has been a large entry and it is anticipated that it will be an extremely close and hard fought tournament.
