Doubles tennis champs underway in next fortnight

AMANZIMTOTI Tennis Club championships men’s doubles and mixed doubles will be played over the next two Saturdays, 21 and 28 November.

Note that club champs may only be played by paid-up members of the club.

The annual Sandra Cup tournament will be played on Saturday, 5 December followed by a braai and get-together to celebrate the past year with all members. Entry fee for the tournament will be R40 per racquet which includes the braai. All trophies will presented at this time.

All attending this function should take along a gift valued at not more than R50. The men are to provide a gift for a man clearly marked ‘M’ and the women a gift for a lady marked ‘L’. These will be randomly drawn during the evening. A plate of snacks for the afternoon will also be appreciated. More detail is available on the notice board.

Midweek women are to note the Christmas ‘bring and share’ lunch will take place on Wednesday, 2 December in the clubhouse. See the notice board for more details.

Toti Tennis Club’s development clinic continues on Saturday mornings from 9am to 10am. Take your children down to the club for an hour of free coaching by Madi and Gabriel. There are some tennis racquets available for use and children should ideally wear suitable tennis shoes. Note that Saturday, 5 December will be the final session of this clinic for the year. It will re-open in January 2016 when school resumes.

If anyone is stripping their kitchen for a revamp, the club is looking for second-hand shelving for repair work that needs to be done in its kitchen. If you can help, make contact with one of the committee members.
