Golfers to compete in Rotary golf tournament

With the ocean as a backdrop and the greens as the scene, Rotary is set to host a golf tournament to lift the local economy.

THE 4Days 4Courses 4Good golf tournament, taking place from May 12-15, will see players taking to the greens, reveling in the fellowship of golf, and competing for daily prizes.

The Rotary Club of Amanzimtoti, which will host the tournament in partnership with four golf clubs, endeavours to stimulate the economy on the KZN South Coast, and create awareness of cancer, TB and HIV/Aids.

President of the club Aneska Dupont said, “The International Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians is a group of Rotarians dedicated to promoting golf as an opportunity for fellowship and service. Our club forms partnerships with four golf clubs, the community and businesses to showcase our golf clubs and our tropical weather at affordable fees. The golf clubs will run the golf days, and with the support of our partners, we provide prizes. The format will be individual Stableford and team ‘ball’ competition.

The Umdoni Park Golf Club will host the first day of the tournament on May 12, followed by Umkomaas Golf Club on May 13 and Scottburgh Golf Club on May 14. On the final day, golfers will make their way to Amanzimtoti Country Club and Conservancy for the main showdown.
