Fast-paced fun at the tennis courts

Every week, members of the Amanzimtoti Tennis Club enjoy friendly rounds of social games, making for competitive, yet fun matches.

THE EARLY morning gloom and showers did little to deter Amanzimtoti Tennis Club members from taking to the courts on November 5 for their weekly fix of social tennis.

Competitive spirit, enthusiasm and camaraderie made for an exciting display of high-energy tennis. The added benefit of getting in a solid workout only sweetened the pot.

Gary Kilian, of the club committee, welcomed visitors and those interested to join the fun.

“As we are fast approaching the festive season, we would like to announce the club’s year-end bring-and-braai on December 6. Play on the day will start at around 13:30 and the club will be selling raffle tickets as part of its fundraising, with some lovely prizes up for grabs,” said Kilian.

He added that the club enjoyed a recent increase in membership. He said it is exciting to have the courts occupied more often, with people passionate about the beautiful game.

Social tennis for club members is on Wednesdays from 08:00 and Saturdays from 14:00, and for social members on Sunday from 16:00. Visitors are always welcome to join on social days, and the courts may be hired at other times.
