The programme brought about awareness regarding the importance of protecting children and ensuring that every child feels safe at school and in their communities.

Melina Singh, of non-profit organisation, the Jems Foundation, explained that the event gave learners the opportunity to participate by delivering speeches on child protection and ways to keep children safe.

“The learners spoke confidently and shared valuable messages about respect, reporting abuse, bullying prevention, and the importance of speaking up when facing danger or harm. Their participation showed great courage, understanding, and leadership. The school was also honoured to welcome special guests from police and officers addressed the learners and spoke about child safety, personal responsibility, and how children can protect themselves in different situations. They encouraged learners to report any form of abuse or unsafe behaviour to trusted adults and reminded them that the police are there to help and protect them,” said Singh.
