“I have been selected to play singles and lead in the pairs. I am ecstatic and honoured to be given the opportunity to play in the singles as it is my most favoured discipline to compete in,” said Ritmuller.
Bagging many consecutive wins as the South African men’s singles champion, Ritmuller, who started playing bowls when he was just 12 years old, said he was thrilled to be able to compete against bowlers from across the globe.
The Stella Park Bowling Club member competed at the Commonwealth Games in 2022 and highlights of his journey as a bowler includes making his debut playing for South Africa at the 2017 African States Tournament, where he achieved three gold medals and was named player of the tournament.
