Relax at puppy yoga fundraiser to help animal rescue operations

Blue Bundu Brigade and Bluff Rescue Kennels are encouraging people to get involved with their puppy yoga event that promises relaxation and cuteness overload.

ANIMAL lovers and yoga enthusiasts have a delightful treat in store for them as Blue Bundu Brigade and The Bluff Rescue Kennels are coming together to organise a special puppy yoga fundraising event at the Bluff Eco Park on March 15. The aim of the event is to mingle the therapeutic benefits of yoga with the lovable fun of play puppies.

Karen Janisch, one of the directors at Blue Bundu Brigade, said puppy yoga is the newest wellness trend that combines classic yoga poses and the irresistible cuteness of puppies.

“Yoga can help people improve flexibility while increasing muscle strength and tone. The associated breathing exercises promote deep relaxation and enhance feelings of vitality and vigour. Yoga improves athletic performance and is a low-impact form of exercise, making it an excellent choice for those who cannot participate in more strenuous physical activity,” said Janisch.

The added element of puppies creates a greater relaxation and stress relief, reduces stress, and offers a sense of companionship, especially for lonely or isolated individuals.

Unlike other fundraising activities, there will be no monetary fee to participate. Rather, attendees are requested to bring dog food as their donation to enter. The event will feature The Pet Food Place, who will be present selling dog food and other pet items for those wishing to donate extra.

Janisch said the event is for individuals who enjoy the benefits of yoga and have a passion for puppies.

“We hope that because of this exposure, some of our rescue puppies will be sent to loving forever homes,” said Janisch.

If you are interested in attending, contact Marlise on 072 828 6910. The spots are limited, and thus early booking is recommended.
