Get rid of old electronic goods safely with E-waste bins

The eThekwini’s Cleansing and Solid Waste Unit will be at The Bluff Showgrounds to collect old electronics and appliances.

THE eThekwini Municipality’s Cleansing and Solid Waste (CSW) Unit calls on the community of The Bluff to support their E-waste recycling initiative at The Bluff Showgrounds today and tomorrow (January 10 and 11).

Venue: The Bluff Showgrounds (parking area)

Dates: January 10 and 11

Time: 08:30 – 15:00 ️

Accepted items:

The following E-waste items will be received for recycling:
– Computers and accessories: Laptops, keyboards, computer mouse, chargers and cables
– Small electronics: Remote controls, calculators and cell phones
– Kitchen appliances: Kettles, blenders and food processors
– Personal care appliances: Hairdryers, trimmers and irons
– Batteries: Household batteries of all types

E-waste contains hazardous chemicals such as lead and mercury, which contaminate soil and water if their disposal is not done properly. The E-waste drive is an easy yet effective way to take action against environmental degradation.
