Bluff Assist calls for community’s help for winter drive

Bluff Assist is encouraging the community to come forward and support their winter drive to spread warmth this winter.

AS temperatures begin to drop and the winter season starts to set in, Bluff Assist is trying to keep the fire burning by embarking on a winter drive to ensure no family is left out in the cold.

The organisation is appealing to the community to donate new or second-hand blankets and warm jerseys for needy families.

Monica Pelser, chairperson of Bluff Assist, said the items collected will be given to needy residents of The Bluff, individuals who simply don’t have the disposable income to buy blankets to keep their families warm.

“We are asking residents to rummage through their closets and give what they can. A secondhand jersey, a blanket to keep them warm, whatever anyone can, will have a huge impact in bringing the less fortunate through the winter freeze,” said Pelser.

Donations can be brought to 42 Bayview Road or 29 Zinto Cele Road. For more information or to arrange a collection, contact Monica on 064 528 5780 or Lara on 071 107 2166.
