A comprehensive report detailing the findings has since been escalated to the Land Invasion Unit, the SAPS and Metro Police for further action.

Sidney Govindsamy of the Bluff CPF said the identified structures are considered unlawful and pose safety and health risks to both the occupants and the surrounding community.

In addition to the illegal structures, he said the patrol uncovered several footpaths and resting areas commonly used by drug users. These locations have now been flagged for continuous monitoring during future CPF patrols to prevent further illicit activity.

Bluff CPF has reaffirmed its commitment to proactive community safety and has stated it will continue to monitor the affected areas closely.

“Measures will be taken to ensure no new illegal dwellings are erected. The CPF also plans to follow through with relevant authorities to ensure existing illegal structures are dismantled and building materials are safely removed,” said Govindsamy.

The CPF thanked law enforcement partners and community members for their continued support and encouraged residents to report suspicious activity.

“Their collective efforts remain crucial in maintaining safety and order across The Bluff region,” he added.
