The Bluff Tidy Team marks second anniversary

The Bluff Tidy Team celebrated two years of clean-ups and promoting environmental awareness as they worked to keep The Bluff community clean.

THE Bluff Tidy Team recently celebrated its second year of keeping The Bluff community clean with a celebration at the Heroes Pub and Grill on February 7. Over the past two years, this group has devoted its time to keeping The Bluff clean, safe and informed of environmental issues.

Waylon Murray, founder of the non-profit, said what started as an idea transformed into a respected local movement. The team focuses on regular clean-ups, teaching people about the environment and promoting community spirit.

Murray said that reaching the two-year mark feels both satisfying and unreal.

“Reaching two years reflects the hard work, dedication, and support from everyone involved, and we’re extremely proud of how far we’ve come,” said Murray.

2026 endeavours

Looking to the future, the Bluff Tidy Team has set some targets for the coming year.

“Our goal is to expand our impact by reaching more areas, involving more volunteers and continuing to raise awareness about the importance of keeping our environment clean. We also hope to build stronger partnerships with local businesses, schools and organisations to ensure that our clean-ups create lasting change,” he said.

The anniversary party was also a chance to thank those who have backed the group from the start. Murray thanked The Bluff community for its continued support. “This organisation exists because of you,” said Murray.

He also extended his thanks to Heroes Pub and Grill for hosting the celebration and anyone else who had worked to make the team the success it is today.
