The fundraiser also served as a day to celebrate community spirit, bringing together learners, parents, teachers and The Bluff residents.

Taliyah Stolls, marketing manager and organiser of the event, said the fun run aimed to enhance the academic department with much-needed resources that would benefit the learners.

Sibonelo Shozi, Fezile Zulu, Onikuzuko Dudumashe and Philani Nkwakhwa were feeling the vibes of the fun run.

“The heart of the event was to rekindle the Grosvenor and Bluff community spirit. It was about bringing everyone back together, restoring the connection and bond we once shared as a community. It wasn’t just about raising funds; it was about hearts, laughter, and creating a space where everyone feels like they belong again,” said Stolls.

The walk led the energetic attendees along Tara Road, down Club Road, through the scenic Bluff Golf Course and back to the school on Moss Road, finishing on the school field. Attendees showed their support by tackling the run with outrageous hairdos and different-coloured socks.

Following the walk, the school grounds were filled with various food stalls and accessory stalls. The competitive juices flowed as teachers, parents and learners participated in races.

Stolls said they also did some prize giveaways that were sponsored by MTN Bluff at Bluff Towers and Virgin Active Bluff. She added that Bluff Meat Supply sponsored 100 wors and 100 rolls which were sold on the day of the fun run.

Stolls expressed gratitude to everyone who took part and helped.

Kaylene Chand was excited to be able to feel the early morning sun while on the fun run.

“Next time, we are throwing the doors wide open to The Bluff community and inviting them to come experience the magic that Grosvenor Boys has to offer. We are confident that our next fun run will be even bigger, louder and filled with even more community love,” she said.

Johanna van Deventer and Cheyenne Williams posed for the camera before crossing the finish line.
