Fynnland Primary School serves up food and fun

Fynnlands Primary School's tradition of fun, family and most importantly food continued when they recently held their food evening.

FYNNLAND Primary School brought the fun and food on June 25 with their annual food evening. The evening brought together learners, families and the community who came in support of the school’s event.

Wilma McKenzie, financial secretary, said the food evening is one of their biggest fundraisers. “Food evening is our biggest annual fundraiser. Funds raised are used for the daily maintenance of the school,” said McKenzie.

From hot dogs and bacon rolls to boerie rolls, breyani, beef and chicken burgers and mac and cheese, there was something on the menu to satisfy every craving. The sweet-toothed individuals were not left behind either with an assortment of desserts and treats also on sale.

Along with the food, children had a ball playing a host of exciting games and activities, including pillow fights, a fishing game, sack toss and buzz wire. To top it off, prizes were awarded during certain games.

McKenzie applauded event organiser Elizabeth Naidu who had worked day and night to make the evening the success it was. She added that the discussions around next year’s evening are already in the works, due to the incredible turnout and support for this year’s event.
