The school field was transformed into a water inflatable carnival, featuring gigantic slides that had Grade R to Grade Seven learners running, sliding and splashing throughout the day

Wilma McKenzie, financial secretary of the school, said the spring day fun day is another highlight on the school’s calendar.

“It gives the children an opportunity to mix and enjoy themselves, just allowing children to be children,” she said.

McKenzie made quite the splash herself, creating a lasting memory for many of the learners. The staff member donned her swimsuit and conquered her fear, when she made her way up the tallest slide. With the crowds of learners supporting her, McKenzie provided the learners with a good laugh as she sped down the slide. “I was terrified at first, but the children cheered me on, and it turned into such a special moment,” joked McKenzie.
