EDITOR – I live in Pearce Road, Bluff and for a long time I have been feeding two male cats which are not neutered.
The one is a dark grey cat with yellow eyes, I know he is stray. I think he may also be eating at another house, because sometimes I don’t see him for several weeks but when I see him again, he is in a better condition than before.
I did not see him for a few weeks. When next I saw him, it looked like his tail had been chopped off. Being a stray, I thought he must have caught his tail in something.
From a distance, it looks like his tail is healing on its own. I cannot pick him up.
Then yesterday the other male cat, which I had not seen for a few weeks, came to our house. His tail had also been dropped off.
He was very hungry and it looked like his tail was healing on its own. I know this cat has a home.
He is a big grey and white male cat. He comes to my house because I have two spayed female cats. Wherever he comes from, you can see they are feeding him well, he just needs to be neutered.
Is someone in the area trapping cats and chopping off their tails? I have reported the matter to Durban and Coast SPCA.
Please, people must have their animals spayed and neutered. When they are spayed and neutered, they don’t roam as much.
