Bluff BC duo to contend PN masters

The men played novice singles, and Greg Trollip beat Dave Lavis in a close match, while Chad Wilson won against Ryan Warren.

BLUFF Bowling Club is proud to announce that two of its players were successful in the Port Natal qualifying masters and will now take part in the main masters event this weekend.

Huge congratulations to Jay Retief and Robert Mhlongo, and club members join together in wishing them very good bowling. Unfortunately, Robert and Gary Moffet were in the same section, and although Gary put up a creditable performance, Robert was the victor. Jay and Robert will now be among the elite singles players of the district.

Bluff Bowling Club is privileged to have four other players who will also take part in the masters. They are Sarie Bisset, Bridget White, Daphne Reinhardt and Glynis Mackrory.

The club has an amazing amount of talent in its players.

Saturday club competitions for the women saw Janice Rodgers beat Phyllis Maritz in the senior singles. The final of this competition will take place this Saturday between Janice and Dawn Spack.

The men played novice singles, and Greg Trollip beat Dave Lavis in a close match, while Chad Wilson won against Ryan Warren. Chad then played against Greg and emerged as the victor, making him the novice singles champion. Well done to all.

On Sunday a game of mixed trips was played and Bridget White, Kurt Spack and Deon Maritz beat Dave Rowe, Phyllis Maritz and Ryan Warren.

There are men’s drawn pairs competitions to be played this Saturday. Members are asked to check the notice boards.

This coming weekend sees the start of the KZN tournament, with Margate Bowling Club being the headquarters. A number of club members have entered this tournament, which starts with pairs on Saturday. Members are wished good bowling and safe travelling.
