Damian Willemse will lead the side at London's Stoop ground.
Four players will make their Stormers debuts in the Champions Cup match against Harlequins in London on Sunday, while veteran prop Oli Kebble will earn his 50th cap for the Cape-based side.
Coach John Dobson has picked a number of fringe players for the match at The Stoop but also included a few senior men, including Damian Willemse, who’ll lead the side from inside centre.
Luke Burger, picked on the left wing, is the only run-on debutant, with lock Alex Groves, loose forward Wandile Mlaba and former Springbok Sevens flyer Mfundo Ndhlovu all set to earn their first caps from the bench.
Willemse will be joined in the midfield by regular winger Suleiman Hartzenberg, while Dylan Maart, who’s been in such good form after his arrival from Griquas, is back on the right wing, while Warrick Gelant will run out at fullback.
The experienced Dewaldt Duvenage will partner Jurie Matthee at halfback, with Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu rested for the match.
Kebble, who’s played Test rugby for Scotland, will start alongside recent Springbok tighthead Zachary Porthen and hooker Lukhanyo Vokozela, who makes his first start having featured impressively as a replacement in recent weeks.
Connor Evans and Ruben van Heerden are in the second row, while Springbok flank Ben-Jason Dixon is joined by Marcel Theunissen and Louw Nel in the loose-trio.
Dobson said that having trained hard in Cape Town before departing to Europe on Wednesday, it will be key to adapt to the change in conditions this weekend. Icy cold weather with potential snow and rainfall is expected during the match.
“We had three good training days at home before leaving and those were in vastly different conditions to what we can expect on Sunday, so our challenge is to acclimatise as quickly as possible,” said Dobson.
