There were a number of significant wins for some of the first teams in this last weekend's big schoolboy rugby fixtures.

Paarl Boys High won the big battle in the Western Cape on Saturday, beating neighbours Paul Roos Gymnasium from Stellenbosch 36-26 in their schools derby.
Paarl Gim were also too good for HTS Drostdy, winning a one-sided match 93-12, to cement their place at the top of the schools rankings this year.
Rondebosch also proved too good for Boland Landbou, while there were also wins in the Western Cape for Oakdale and Wynberg.
In Gauteng, Affies hammered KES 65-19, Garsfontein won away to Menlopark and Noordheuwel beat neighbours Monument in the big Krugersdorp derby.
Pretoria Boys High also recorded a good win away to St Alban’s, while down in the Eastern Cape Queen’s College got the better of Grey High, winning 25-24, at home.
In KZN Westville edged DHS, while in the Free State, Witteberg from Bethlehem beat Welkom Gim at home 24-22.
