Sascoc inquiry expected to heat up
More details on the chaotic state of affairs at the umbrella body is expected to be divulged.

The ministerial inquiry into governance issues at the SA Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) is expected to gain momentum on Thursday, with more witnesses scheduled to appear in Johannesburg.
Various individuals gave testimony under oath on Monday to the inquiry committee led by retired judge Ralph Zulman, including representatives of sports federations and clubs, current and former sports administrators and a Sascoc employee.
Though the final schedule had not yet been released by Wednesday, the provisional list of witnesses for the second day included Keith Barends of the SA Sport and Fitness Association (Sasaff), and lawyer David Becker, who was representing George van Rensburg and Lynette Early regarding a dispute between Sasaff and Sascoc.
Acting Sascoc CEO Patience Shikwambana, who was promoted after former CEO Tubby Reddy was fired last month on multiple charges, was also due to be called to appear, according to the inquiry committee, though her name did not appear on the provisional list.
Reddy and two other sacked employees were expected to give testimony at a later stage in the six-week inquiry, as well as Sascoc president Gideon Sam and other board members.
