Sredojevic adds that the defender has three more games to the end of season to prove himself.

The Bucs mentor was speaking after his team’s 2-1 victory over Free State Stars on Saturday, where Maela was voted the Man-of-the-Match following his outstanding display for Pirates.

“I hope with today’s (last Saturday) performance he has put the stamp to be a candidate and bought a ticket to Cairo, he still has three more matches to buy his ticket to Cairo international airport,” said Sredojevic.

Maela was part of the Bafana squad that beat Libya 2-1 in their final Group E clash in Tunisia last month when Bafana sealed their spot at the 24-team tournament in Egypt in June.
