Former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates star Jabu Mahlangu believes it is still early for Benni McCarthy to take the responsibility of leading Bafana Bafana.

McCarthy has emerged as the hot favourite to replace Stuart Baxter as Bafana coach following the English mentor’s resignation last Friday.

Mahlangu, however, believes that the Bafana job could destroy McCarthy at this early stage of his promising coaching career and has advised him to reject any offer from Safa.

“But if I was close to him‚ I would advise him to not to take the job because that responsibility could destroy him.

“I know the good job that he has done at Cape Town City and he is definitely our coach for the future‚ but he is still a baby for Bafana.”
