Seabi will make it at Sundowns – Maluleke

There has been a general belief that Seabi may have taken a wrong decision by joining Masandawana because of the tough competition for places especially in central midfield where he plays.

Polokwane City captain, Jabu Maluleke believes his former teammate who recently joined defending Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns, Sammy Seabi will become a regular in Pitso Mosimane’s team.

There has been a general belief that Seabi may have taken a wrong decision by joining Masandawana because of the tough competition for places especially in central midfield where he plays.

Hlompho Kekana, Tiyani Mabunda and Rivaldo Coetzee are Mosimane’s most preferred for the central midfield roles in his team while there are still the likes of Andile Jali, Oupa Manyisa and Lucky Mohomi also awaiting their chances.

But Maluleke is adamant that Seabi will make it.

“Firstly, I would like to congratulate him for the move to Sundowns. I have played with him for four years. He is a good guy and a hard worker.

“I think he will play at Sundowns. He just has to believe in himself. If he believes in himself he will make it. I spoke to him at length about it before he left,” said Maluleke.

He made an example of how, like Seabi Mabunda came from nowhere to become Mosimane’s trusted soldier.

“Mabunda started the same way with people saying he might not make it but look at him now. He is a Bafana player.”
