"These group of players are going to get the team over the line," said Arendse.

SuperSport United caretaker coach Andre Arendse has vowed to fight until the very end as his side looks to steer clear of the relegation play-off zone.

Matsatsantsa a Pitori are equal on 26 points with 15th-placed Cape Town City, but are above them due to a superior goal difference.

Their next assignment is against Richards Bay, which will be followed by a rescheduled clash with Golden Arrows, a match that was abandoned in February due to a power outage.

Arendse, who assumed interim charge following the dismissal of Gavin Hunt, remained upbeat despite Tuesday night’s narrow 1–0 loss to Orlando Pirates at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.

“There’s luck in games and we don’t have it at the moment. On another night, the header hits the post (against Pirates) and goes into the net but this time, it hit the post and went out,” Arendse said.

“Those are the kind of small margins we are talking about from a luck perspective and we just don’t have that at the moment. We are going to have to do this the hard way,” added Arendse.

“We have the next game coming, and we will prepare for that, and we’ll keep the team going. Yes, it was a little bit deflating to come from a result like that against Pirates because I thought we pushed them so far into the game.

“Defensively, we looked very solid, and one lapse in concentration and we are giving teams goals again like we have in the past games, so we have to fix that and we have to do it very quickly. We are running out of games, and we don’t have time, but like I said in my previous interviews. These group of players are going to get the team over the line,” concluded Arendse.
