Buchanan opens up about injury woes

Maritzburg United midfielder Keagan Buchanan says he is ready to fight for his place in Eric Tinkler’s starting line up next season.

Buchanan’s career at Maritzburg has been hampered by injuries.

The former Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder struggled to recover from a knee injury which kept him out for most of the season.

“It’s been a tough journey for me with injuries in my career,” said Buchanan. “I have gone through this twice before but this time around I had the support of the teammates and the club management being behind me was more motivation and my family.

“It’s been a tough but good journey and these are challenges that help you grow as a man. I feel strong and ready to go this season. I haven’t felt anything niggle and I feel like myself and I am confident and also enjoying the pre-season sessions with the referees.”
