Celtic release goalkeeper Tignyemb

Bloemfontein Celtic have terminated the contract of veteran goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb after 11 years of service.

A source close to Celtic confirmed to Phakaaathi that Tignyemb was released after he confronted the club management about the players’ bonuses.

“The players got threatening letters that if they don’t report for training this morning, they will be released or they won’t get their May salaries. When Tignyemb tried to speak up for the players, he was released,” said the source.

Phakaaathi tried to get a confirmation from Tignyemb, but the Cameroonian goalkeeper referred us to the Celtic management.

Both Khumbulani Konco (Celtic CEO) and Sello Nduna (Celtic PRO) were not available for comment.
