Dolly pleased with Bafana teammates

By Jonty Mark

Mokotjo was only allowed to play in the game at the last minute, after the Department of Home Affairs fast-tracked his application to have his South African citizenship restored. And the 24 year old FC Twente midfielder impressed with his range of passing in Durban, making a mockery of his lack of game time under former coach Shakes Mashaba.

Erasmus, meanwhile, also fell out of favour under Mashaba, and if he was rather ineffective at times on Saturday, he did score his second senior international goal from the penalty spot.

“I am personally excited to see Kamo and Kermit because I have always looked up to these guys, they have been playing in Europe and proving themselves,” said Dolly, who himself moved to France to play with Ligue 1 side Montpellier in January.

Dolly, who won the Man-of-the-Match award, also showed a fine understanding with Thulani Serero, with some of their link-up play an absolute delight.

“With Serero, we built a relationship back at Ajax (Cape Town) when he came to train with the team, and since then we have clicked,” added Dolly.

“It is always encouraging to come home and play with these players and grow as a team.”
