Ex-Chiefs target surfaces in Botswana

Former Free State Stars coach Nikola Kavazovic has been appointed as the Gaborone United coach.

According to WeekendPost Kavazovic took over after Zimbabwean coach Madinda Ndlovu was admitted to a hospital in Gaborone after he suffered a stroke.

Kavazovic will be in charge of the team until the end of the season, reports in Botswana suggest that the club was looking to rope in the coach after the season ends with the controversial Ndlovu heading out of the club.

The Serbian coach has been without a team after failing to save Ea Lla Koto from relegation at the end of the 2018/2019 season in the Absa Premiership.

Kavazovic was linked with a return to South Africa before he was approached by the Botswana side.

“Ndlovu, before his untimely stroke, coached Township Rollers, Mochudi Center Chiefs and Orapa United.  In each of these clubs, he left a lasting impression, winning silverware. Attempts to reach GU communication’s desk proved futile, with reports that the club management is in a lengthy discussion with Kavazovic to stay at the club,” read a report from WeekendPost.
