Jomo Sono is a businessman – Katongo

Former Jomo Cosmos goal-poacher Chris Katongo says if Jomo Sono wanted to win trophies, he would have lifted a lot of silverware.

The former PSL top goal-scorer explains that Sono is a businessman, who is proud of unearthing raw talent and selling them to big clubs and that’s why almost every team in the PSL has a player that played for Cosmos.

“That’s my boss, we need to understand him more, Bra J is a business man, that’s the first you have to know. If he wanted to win the league in South African he would have four or five trophies. If you look at the record of players that he has sold over the years, if he can have all of them together for two to three years, we could have won the league,” said Katongo.

“But he is not that type of a person because he loves football, but we know that football is a business. When you watch the PSL, every single team has a Cosmos player. And that’s what he is proud of. So it’s always going to be like that, you won’t change him.”

Katongo added that he would love to see Ezenkosi back in top flight football, because he knows that Sono is very competitive.
