Komphela impressed with Ntshangase’s showing in first match
Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela was impressed with new signing Siphelele Ntshangase's display in his debut match as Amakhosi beat Polokwane City 2-1 at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.

Ntshangase came on as a second half substitute and and made an immediate impact as his short pass to Joseph Molangoane on the right resulted in a cross that was headed in by Dumisani Zuma for Amakhosi’s second goal which sealed the three points for Komphela’s side.
The 24-year-old midfielder however finished the match limping after a collision with a City player towards the end of the match.
“Regarding the state of his injury, we are not sure yet as the we are yet to speak to the medics but if it had been something serious they would have indicated. We hope it is not serious.
“We would want to have players of that calibre consistently on the field,” said Komphela during a post match media confetence.
Ntshangase’s short passes troubled the Polokwane defenders as they could not keep up with him as he sprayed passes.
“On his ability, everyone has seen what he can give in terms of game intelligence, you can see he is someone who can and he fits a profile of a No. 10. And on what he says (about champagne passes) there was a time where he saw there was no space for him to play the pass and he saw that there was in the air and he tried to loop it over. And that doesn’t happen often. He has good technical ability,” said Komphela.
Some sections of the football supporters in the country were unimpressed when Ntshangase declared that he was the missing piece that Amakhosi had been looking for and he would bring the killer passes into the team.
“There is a very fine line between arrigance and confidence. Sometimes when you portray your confidence and pronounce it, it comes across as arrogance. It is nice to have sports people with that kind of confidence but we just need to be part of his understanding because the minute he is misunderstood, it tips the scales. We hope people will understand that is is purely confidence and our players must have that confidence,” added Komphela.
