Laffor to miss Al Ahly clash

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed that striker Anthony Laffor will miss the rest of the season because of a knee injury.

As a result of the injury, Laffor will miss Saturday’s Caf Champions League quarterfinal clash against Al Ahly.

“We have a lot of injuries, but Laffor is going for surgery. It’s unbelievable. I don’t know, but he will probably miss the rest of the season,” said Mosimane.

“It is not nice because he always comes up and saves us – he has got that goal in him and we all know about it. But it hasn’t been easy. That knee gets swollen and we want him to play. But he has to manage it because he is not young anymore.”

Also set to miss Saturday’s clash are striker Jeremy Brockie and defender Ricardo Nascimento.

The Sundowns duo is nursing injuries.
