Leopards appoint Eymael as new head coach

Black Leopards have appointed Luc Eymael as their new coach.

Phakaaathi reported previously that the coach was heading to Lidoda Duvha after leaving Egyptian Premier League side Tala’ea El Gaish SC.

Eymael confirmed he was in talks with Leopards but insisted that nothing had been finalised.

The Venda-based outfit confirmed on Thursday that Eymael was their new coach.

The Belgian mentor signed a two-year deal with the club.

Eymael left the Absa Premiership under a cloud of controversy when he resigned from the Free State Stars as he was tipped to take over from Steve Komphela at Kaizer Chiefs.

However, the 59-year-old joined Tala’ea El Gaish SC in Egypt.

Golden Arrows coach Steve Komphela made a plea to club bosses in the Absa Premiership not to hire Eymael as he was allegedly disrespectful to South African football.

“Luc Eymael appointed head coach for 2 seasons,” read a tweet from the club.
