Mayor and business owners join hands to try and save Celtic

Mangaung Metro Executive Mayor Olly Mlamleli is set to have a meeting with Bloemfontein Celtic owner Max Tshabalala and local business owners to find a way to keep Siwelele in Bloemfontein.

Following the protests that broke out over the weekend due to reports of the club being sold to a Kimberley-based businessman, the Mayor decided to intervene.

“The mayor and the club owner will meet today (Wednesday). The mayor has also invited local business people,” Celtic media officer Sello Nduna told Lesedi FM.

“The media and public will not be invited to this meeting, it will be private. It is there for the club to try and find a way to keep the team in this town.

“There will be another meeting on Sunday between the club and the supporters. The club will explain everything to fans at that meeting… the plan and the way forward.”
