Want-away SuperSport forward linked with Highlands

A source close to Thuso Phala says the speedy winger is looking to stay in Gauteng when his contract with SuperSport United ends at the end of the season.

The club won’t renew his contract, which gives him the freedom to search for a new team.

Phala, 32, was expected to leave the Pretoria outfit in the recent January transfer window, but nothing materialised.

“One thing I know for sure is that he is keen on staying in Gauteng, so he would prefer an offer from a team there. I’m not sure if there have been any offers yet, but we’ve heard that Highlands Park might be interested, which is very good for him because he has worked with Owen da Gama before,” revealed the source.
