Swallows considering options as Truter remains ‘on leave’

'They have found out that the situation is worse than they imagined,' according to an insider.

Swallows FC’s management are said to have held a crisis meeting to discuss the club’s worrying situation and they are now considering finding a new coach for the team.

The Dube Birds controversially put Brandon Truter on leave following a string of poor results. The leave was said to be for two weeks and his assistant Simo Dladla would hold the fort in his absence.

But the results have not improved and the recent heavy defeats to Cape Town City and Mamelodi Sundowns have set the panic buttons buzzing at the club.

“They have found out that the situation is worse than they imagined. They are now seriously considering options as they want someone who can save the team and move it off the relegation places.

“It is early days yet but they don’t want to leave things too late and find it in a position that would be difficult to get out of,” said a source close to the club.
