Kaizer Chiefs may no longer take their matches to Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban if the playing surface is not attended to, according to Phakaaathi sources.
Steve Komphela’s Amakhosi hosted Highlands Park at the World Cup venue, but were said to have been unhappy with the condition of the pitch.
“The pitch was unplayable and the game ended up being a snooze fest because the skilful players could not express themselves because the pitch didn’t allow it. There was also a concern that there might be injuries. If eThekwini Metro doesn’t deal with the issue immediately they might not get any more Chiefs matches,” said a source.
Moses Mabhida Stadium is known to be the preferred venue for PSL finals but the pitch leaves a lot to be desired.
