Musona doesn’t think Kaizer Chiefs can afford him

Knowledge Musona has all-but ruled out the possibility of moving to Kaizer Chiefs this season, after declaring he does not think any South African club could afford to buy him out of his contract at Anderlecht.

The Zimbabwe striker would clearly like to leave the Belgian giants, where he had little game time last season, spending the second half of the campaign on loan at Lokeren, but it seems more likely that he will stay in Europe if someone does want to pay his transfer fee.

“They love me there in South Africa, and when the time is right I will go back,” said Musona.

“South Africa is my home, not only one club, but the whole country.

Remember, I said I still have a three-year contract, and I don’t know if any team from South Africa can buy me out of my contract. It is going to be difficult, in football you never know we will see what happens,”

“I cannot predict the future, at the moment, I will play here (at the Africa Cup of Nations, and do my best for the country.”

When asked where he would like to go, Musona added: “A good team where I can play football and enjoy it. I just want to go where I am appreciated and loved.”
