Nicknamed ‘Maleven’ for having found the back of the net only 11 times with previous teams before moving to Amakhosi, Paez has scored three times for Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup, a domestic trophy that the Venezualian player has expressed a desire in winning.
Reflecting on his brace against Acornbush United in a game where he came on as a substitute to inspire a comeback for Amakhosi who had their hands full against the ABC Motsepe League outfit, Paez said the win was an important one for Chiefs.
“This is an important win for the club,” Paez told the club’s website.
“We realized that time was not on our side as the game progressed, we had to do something different to win this match.”
