Pitso Mosimane is the boss – Davids

Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids has lauded Pitso Mosimane and branded him the “boss” of coaches in the Premier Soccer League.

The Team of Choice lost 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday night at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium, but Davids had kind words to say about Mosimane.

‘Jingles’, as the former Bafana Bafana coach is commonly known, recently celebrated his fifth year at the helm of Masandawana.

“He is definitely the best with his record of five years at Sundowns. He has done really well at Sundowns,” Davids said.

“He is really the boss in terms of the coaches, everybody looks up to him. He has created this five-year situation and not a lot of coaches have, he is definitely the best,” he added.

Mosimane’s achievements at Sundowns include two league titles, the Caf Champions League, the Super Cup and various domestic trophies.

Davids also suggested that the Brazilians are the outright favorites to win the Absa Premiership this season as they sit five points clear off second-placed Orlando Pirates with three games in hand.

“They are by far the best team in the league with games in hand and already points clear. SuperSport United have games in hand but they are out of the playing style.”
