Swallows to go all out to get the result against City

Dladla says Swallows' game against City will be settled in 90 minutes,

Swallows stand-in coach Simo Dladla is anticipating an open game when his side meets Cape Town City in the second leg of the MTN8 semifinal match at Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday night.

The first leg ended goalless in Cape Town last month.

Swallows and City also played to another goalless draw in the league in Dobsonville last Friday, but Dladla insists that Wednesday’s game won’t end goalless.

“It was a tight game in the first leg, but we came out happy because we didn’t concede in Cape Town. But there has to be a winner on Wednesday. We’re going to go all out to get the result,” said Dladla during a media conference on Tuesday.

“I expect Cape Town City to come at us. In the last game [the league game last Friday] they were a bit reserved, especially when they were in possession. They did not really press us. They were waiting to catch us on the counter. They pushed numbers behind the ball and only left Fagrie Lakay and (Abdeel) Ajagun up there to catch us on the break because of their speed. I don’t expect them to do the same because this is a cup game, but we will settle this game in 90 minutes,” he added.

Dladla also revealed that experienced defender Wandisile Letlabika returned to training after recovering from his injury.

“In the last couple of games we were missing Wandisile Letlabika and I’m happy to report that he is back. He might start or not, but I have a full complement of squad to choose from.”

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns to book their place in the final of the MTN8 when they showed their class in the second-leg semifinal against Golden Arrows at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Tuesday night, beating them 3-0 and 4-1 on aggregate.

Peter Shalulile, Divine Lunga and Neo Maema scored the goals for the Brazilians.
