Mokwena confident of Pirates turnaround

Orlando Pirates coach Rulani Mokwena is adamant that the fortunes of the club will soon change for the better having gone some poor results despite playing very well.

The Bucs coach says he has been using the Fifa break to try and work on the way forward going into the last two games before the end of the year, while on the other hand, they have been working on integrating the players.

“Our performances are worthy of better results, of course when you move from the derby. The first one we played which was the Cup and you see how we were dominant in most of the phases of the game and we created so many opportunities. These are things that we speak about when you don’t have luck. But again, you just have bad luck – its double tragedy,” Mokwena told Pirates TV.

“These are the challenges that we have had to face and obstacles we have had to overcome. They made us stronger and part of being in the Fifa break is concentrating on fine-tuning our game model, integration of the players and also, the players who are coming back from injuries. And making sure that we keep the players believing – believing in our style of play, game principles and the process because part of these things is just paying school fees and that’s what we have been doing and we know that we are going to turn the corner soon.”

Bucs next face Baroka FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday and will be looking to get a second successive win after beating Polokwane City 3-2 in their previous game.
