Highlands are appearing in their first-ever final under the guise of the current club, though a team also named Highlands Park appeared in the 1983 two-legged final against Orlando Pirates. The Lions of the North come into this match as underdogs and that could work to their advantage going into this decider.
SuperSport are without a doubt favourites to win this encounter, as they are appearing in the MTN8 final for the third year in a row – the first time a club has achieved this.
