LOOK! This is how the Lions photobombed us!

We were at a training session this week to capture how the Lions are preparing for Super Rugby glory. We didn't expect this would happen...

All things considered, the Lions should actually be in a very serious mood.

Their beloved coach Johan Ackermann is leaving at the end of the campaign and there are suffocating expectations from a legion of fans.

After all, this is arguably their best chance to win Super Rugby ever.

But that’s not how this team operates.

When The Citizen went to visit earlier this week, we captured a perfect glimpse of the Lions’ chilled and balanced outlook.

Photo bomb deluxe: Lions wingers Courtnall Skosan and Anthony Volmink caught everyone off-guard with this classic moment of zany antics. Picture: Refilwe Modise.

Refilwe Modise, one of our seasoned photographers, was in the process of taking portrait shots of Ackermann when wingers Courtnall Skosan and Anthony Volmink walked past.

With timing as silky as one of the Lions’ most potent attacking movements on the field, the duo photobombed us into submission.

Yes, this photo wasn’t staged at all!

Nonetheless, Refilwe kept his composure like a veteran to showcase just how relaxed the mood in the Lions camp is.

For his part, Ackermann had absolutely no inkling that Skosan and Volmink were going to steal the show.

“What can I tell you? That’s typical backs behaviour,” he said jokingly.
