The Addie has had reports over the past weeks about people rescuing the fish and ducks, taking them to other bodies of water in order for them to survive.

Some were collecting food for the ducks and geese, hoping to help them as best they could.

But everyone was relieved when the firefighters showed up in their bright red trucks to pump water into the almost completely dried up pond last week.

We at the Addie all agree, the best thing to come out of this was everyone coming together to help.

From the small children feeding the ducks to the firefighters filling the pond, and businesses and individuals in between doing their part, it is great to bear witness to the civic pride and responsibility shown by the residents of Springs.
