VEREENIGING. – On Saturday 17 August 2019 at 18:00 Warrant Officer Rost and Sargent Grilo were busy with crime prevention patrols in Vereeniging CDB area. While members were driving in Rhodes Street, a silver VW Golf 5 TDi suddenly made a U-turn in front of the members and started to speed off. Members gave chase and pulled the silver VW over still in Rhodes Street.

The members searched the vehicle and the occupants and found a plastic bag that was hidden on the driver’s body. Warrant Officer Rost opened the bag and found smaller Ziploc bags containing crystal meth inside the bag. Total of 114 × Ziplocs bags containing Crystal Meth were counted.  Substance weighs 0.104kg with a street Value of R15 000

Suspect was arrested by Warrant Officer Rost for Dealing and Possession of Drugs. The suspect appeared in the Vereeniging Magistrates court on charges relating to dealing and possession of drugs.
