VANDERBIJLPARK. – The Vaal’s newest vehicle venture, a Star Chery dealership, was opened in style last week with an official ribbon cutting at its impressive premises in a prime spot next to Barrage Road.

Star Motor Group, established in 2008 and known for its quality vehicles, excelent service and multiple Dealer of the Year awards, added this dealership to its three existing New Car dealerships, one truck dealership and four Pre-owned dealerships across the country.

On asking Edwin Strauss, CEO of Star Motor Group, why they opened a Chery franchise, he replied that Susan Strauss, Co-owner of Star Motor Group, had a huge influence in this decision because she loves the car so much. Since Star Chery started trading in January she played a material role in its achievement of already being among the top 5 in Chery’s 55 dealerships in South Africa.

On Wednesday evening, May 25 around dusk, an enthusiastic crowd of car lovers gathered outside the Star Chery building, previously occupied by Fouche Motors, to witness the official opening. In attendance were senior Chery representatives, including Tony Liu, Executive Deputy General Manager of Chery South Africa.

As with all Star Motor Group’s public events, Wednesday evening was a gracious and welcoming occasion where guests were treated to delectable food and drinks, but the main attraction was undoubtedly the introduction of Chery’s Tiggo 7 Pro. Car lovers were thoroughly wowed by the video on a big screen, during which a “real life” Tiggo 7 Pro suddenly made its entrance into the showroom, seemingly bursting out of the screen!

Vehicle enthusiasts got an opportunity to view this compact 5-seater SUV addition to the Chery range to see for themselves why it receives so many raving reviews. The Tiggo 7 Pro is packed with all the latest comfort, convenience and safety features, without compromising on elegance and sophistication. In his welcoming speech, Star Motor Group Director Edwin Strauss thanked everyone who was instrumental in the group becoming involved with the Chery brand, especially Fulu Mandane, head of Sales at Absa Vehicle and Asset Finance, and Nuno Rodrigues from Chery SA.

“These men, each in their own way, introduced me to Chery and recommended getting involved. Nuno assisted me with the best service and support Star Motor Group could have asked for,” said Edwin.
