VEREENIGING – More than 3 000 athletes participated in the milestone 50th running of the Vaal Marathon.
The event has been hosted by the Vaal Athletic club since 1974 and is considered one of the main fixtures on the local running calendar.
The event included the popular marathon (42.2km), a Comrades and Two Oceans Qualifier, as well as a half marathon (21.1km), a 10km and a 5km fun run.
