“Sedibeng ready for schooling” – Sedibeng East Acting District Director

“The majority of our schools have been disinfected and deep cleaned since last week.”

SEDIBENG. – The Gauteng Department of Education, Sedibeng District, has said that it is ready for the opening of schools on Monday, June 1.

Speaking to Vaalweekblad, the acting District Director of the Department of Education, Sedibeng East, Pheello Metsing has said that the district office has been preparing for schools to be ready to phase in grade 7 and grade 12 on June 1. Metsing further said that the process of disinfecting and deep cleaning the schools has been going on since last week, and will be finished this week.

“The majority of our schools have been disinfected and deep cleaned since last week others will complete the process this week. The PPE’s (Personal Protective Equipment) for School Management Teams (SMT’s) has been delivered so as to enable the SMT’s to plan for learners and staff.”

Metsing said that they conducted principal’s meetings last week in order to facilitate information relating to how schools should be compliant to Covid-19 rules and regulations.

Schools will start receiving PPE’s for the staff and learners this week.
