Sasol Operations employee test positive for Covid-19

SASOLBURG. - It seems that Covid-19 has suddenly tightened it's grip on the Vaal as one of Sasol's Sasolburg Operation employees has also tested positive.

A statement was sent out on behalf of Corporate Affairs Sasolburg Operations confirming the matter. The statement reads that the employee informed his line-manager and is now self-isolating.

According to the Sasolburg Operations protocol the contact tracing is in progress and all employees who have come into contact with the employee will be placed under quarantine and the workplace disinfected.

The statement made it clear that employees have no reason to panic as the case is well managed. They did however advise that employees should remain vigilant and follow the advised safety precautions:

  • washing hands regularly
  • maintaining social distancing (1 to 2 metres)
  • wearing a cloth face mask at all times
  • coughing into a a flexed elbow
  • using a tissue when sneezing and discarding it immediately after use into a bin with lid that close
