BOPHELONG. – Motorist and members of the public have been advised to avoid the R57 in Bophelong where service delivery protests is said to be taking place.

According to an advisory sent out it is advisable to stay away from the R57 between the R42 and four way stop at Rosahoff/Arcelor Mittal. This includes the area where Curie Boulevard intersects the R57.

According to sources the situation is currently volatile and dangerous.

The police and public order police are on the scene.
