MEYERTON. - Midvaal Local Municipality posted a notice yesterday stating that the operation against illegal electricity was a success. They also thanked the SAPS who offered great assistance. But this successful operation received praise and criticism from the community.

While most people applauded and left comments to congratulate the municipality, there were a few comments that stood out:

“Its a great start but there’s still a lot of work to do.”

“This war is far from over.until u understand what People need. We will continue until u give people land and proper sanitation.we don’t want ur rdp house.u can sell it to foreigners as usual.we need to build our own houses.electical issue u can win”.

“Well done!!! Wish we had a municipality like this in Ekurhuleni”.

“All I see here is privileged people shouting good work to our municipality.good work for who.does any of you know how it’s like to live under the conditions we and our children have to live under.black or white we all have same needs.”

“God’s provision be with us. It’s very cold, it’s Covid, it’s no Electricity, it’s no jobs…. God we pray you.”
